Ms. Lucy Demikoff

Director of Curriculum and Instruction K-12 (Special Program)

Lucy Demikoff has been a part of the Belleville School District Team since 1991.  Born and raised in Belleville, she graduated from Belleville High School, and she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Teacher of the Handicapped from Kean University.  Ms. Demikoff taught Departmentalized and Inclusion Special Education classes at Belleville High School from 1991 through 2001.  During this time, she earned a Master's Degree in Special Education and Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant Certification from New Jersey City University.  Ms. Demikoff also earned a second Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision with certification as Supervisor and Principal from New Jersey City University.  

From 2001 through 2005, Ms. Demikoff served as the Supervisor of Special Services, grades  seven through twelve.  She served as the Principal of Elementary School Number Three from 2005 through 2015, and Principal of Elementary School Seven from 2015 through 2018.  Ms. Demikoff was also the Intervention & Referral Services Coordinator from 2019 through 2022.

Ms. Demikoff is currently the Director of Curriculum and Instruction K-12, Specialized Programs.  She is the Multi Language Learner (MLL) Supervisor, K-12, otherwise known as ESL.  She is the Talented & Gifted Program Supervisor, K-12, and Section 504 District Coordinator, K-6.

Ms. Demikoff is committed to assisting Belleville’s dedicated, hardworking staff with improving instructional practices that assist students with setting challenging rigorous goals that carry over to college, the workplace, socially, and emotionally throughout their adult life. 

Ms. Demikoff loves working with the highly qualified, dedicated, and compassionate Central Office Administrative Team on district wide initiatives for the betterment of the entire Belleville community.  She believes that modeling integrity, showing kindness and tolerance for others, being accountable for your actions, and mutual respect is equally as important as highly effective teaching and learning.

Ms. Demikoff resides with her sons Tyler and Troy who are beyond the shadow of a doubt her two greatest accomplishments in life.  She is dedicated to supporting their academic goals and athletic related endeavors.  In her spare time, she enjoys long walks with her beautiful greyhound Haly.
